Riot’s “Valorant” is a competitive 5v5 character-based first-person tactical shooter. The free-to-play title, which launched in 2020, is “a precise and lethal multiplayer game with high-fidelity gunplay, a diverse arsenal of guns, agents with unique abilities, and competitively tuned maps for unlimited hours of play. In ‘Valorant,’ players lock in their agent for the entire duration of the match and then attempt to win a round-based, attackers vs. defenders, best-of-24-rounds fight.”

As of August 2, Valorant has officially been released on Xbox Series X and S consoles and PlayStation 5 after the initial beta has come to an end.
Now Valorant has fully launched on consoles, meaning you no longer require a code to get in and can simply download and play the game from your console’s store. However, Valorant is currently only available in the United States and Canada, Europe, Japan, and Brazil. Other regions may launch in the future, but there is currently no word on when that may happen.
YES! Console players on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S can freely play with and against one another. Valorant has partial cross-platform support. PS5 and Xbox players can match up and squad up together on Valorant. Since players on both consoles are on the same playing field, there are no advantages or disadvantages over the other.
Just make sure you actually have the feature enabled so you can broaden your search pool when matchmaking.
Unfortunately, Valorant does not support crossplay between PC and PS5, nor does PC have that option with Xbox consoles. Due to the nature of the game, PC players do have a massive advantage over console players. This isn’t a game like Overwatch or recent Call of Duty games where the TTK (Time to Kill) is high enough so that those playing on a controller can have a fair gunfight.
The good news is that you can switch back and forth if you want to jump into a console game after a few rounds on PC. Just make sure your console is linked to your Riot Games account. You'll be prompted to do so the first time you launch VALORANT on your console of choice.
It isn't cross-platform VALORANT, but it is cross-progression. Your account level, Battle Pass progress, and all of your cosmetics carry over. Your Competitive rank does not, however. The rank and MMR is separate between console and PC.
