The second open beta introduces the flagship monster Arkveld, along with the returning Gypceros. Players can challenge Arkveld through a high-difficulty quest, and upon completing the Doshaguma Hunt, players can unlock additional quests featuring Arkveld and Gypceros.
Note: Once you complete the Arkveld quest, this monster will appear in random locations across the wilds.
The Training Area is designed for solo play, allowing you to practice with various weapons. Here, you will automatically revive if you faint, and the number of consumables you use will not decrease.
Note: Changes to weapon actions, which are planned for the full release, are not included in this beta.
Private lobbies allow you to create exclusive sessions with up to 16 players. These lobbies can only be accessed through a lobby ID search, ensuring a more controlled multiplayer experience.
In the Online Single Player mode, players can explore the wilds alone without joining a lobby. The pause feature is available in the Start Menu, and you can use an SOS Flare to temporarily join multiplayer sessions for help.
The beta test allows full access to the character creation system, which will be available in the final version. You can remake your character as many times as you like during the beta, and your character creation data can be carried over to the full game.
The Story Trial introduces the opening cutscene and the Chatacabra Hunt, offering basic tutorials to help you get a feel for the weapon mechanics and enjoy seamless transitions from cutscenes to gameplay.
In the Doshaguma Hunt, you’ll face off against the alpha of the Doshaguma pack. Explore vast locales on your Seikret, switching between weapon types for a dynamic hunting experience.
You can also use an SOS Flare to call for assistance from other players or NPC Support Hunters (up to three). Multiplayer supports crossplay, allowing you to team up with players across different platforms.
Monster Hunter Wilds will be available on PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. The beta test will be available on all these platforms during the dates specified earlier.
To participate in the beta, players must meet the following conditions:
Note: Both beta test periods (Feb. 7–10 and Feb. 14–17, 2025) are available to PlayStation®5 and Xbox Series X|S players, including those not subscribed to PlayStation®Plus or Game Pass Core/Ultimate.
